The Committee on Information Policy and Communications of St. Petersburg and Beeline have launched a project to help citizens who have been victims of hacking on the "Gosuslugi" portal. This was reported by the operator's press service.
The victim can contact the mobile operator or call the Unified Reference Service of St. Petersburg at any time. This allows you to solve the problem without a long wait. In the future, it is planned to expand the project to all regions of Russia.
The operator's press service emphasizes that interaction with the "digital division" of the St. Petersburg administration includes not only traditional measures to ensure perimeter security, but also joint activities with participants in the financial market, state and digital services.
St. Petersburg has taken measures to protect users of the "Gosuslugi" portal from personal data theft. Now, if your account has been hacked or you suspect that someone is redirecting calls to your number, you can contact Beeline support or the Unified Reference Service of the city. Specialists will quickly understand the situation and help you contact the support of the service you need or solve the problem immediately.
The victim will be explained how to regain access to the stolen account – through "Gosuslugi" or Beeline. He will be told about the working hours of the nearest MFC and the necessary documents for restoring access (if this cannot be done online). He will also be informed how to find places where the account was used, how to check credit history, open accounts and protect himself from telephone and online fraudsters.
The countdown during a fraud attack is in seconds. The longer unauthorized access to the public services portal or operator's account lasts, the higher the likelihood of serious financial losses – not to mention the nerves that a person spends waiting on the line and explaining his problem to the operator. Our cooperation with the Unified Regional Reference Service 122 of St. Petersburg allows us to reduce the response time by times and reduce the destructive consequences of attacks.
Employees of the rapid response team will check whether the call has been forwarded, and, if necessary, disable forwarding. Both support services are available 24/7.
The Committee and the operator are also developing measures aimed at protecting against unauthorized access to the account on the "Gosuslugi" portal. Experts from the St. Petersburg State Institution "St. Petersburg Information and Analytical Center", which is under the jurisdiction of the Committee on Informatization and Communications, took part in the testing of the new function.
We are recording an unprecedented number of cyberattacks – both on government services and on personal accounts of Russians. Today, authorities, mobile operators, banks and technology companies are joining forces to create multi-level data protection systems.
According to her, by establishing prompt data exchange, specialists not only quickly respond to incidents, but also receive a tool for analysis, allowing them to develop preventive measures against threats.
