JSC TVEL has completed the modernization of equipment for the production of low-enriched uranium at the plant in Zelenogorsk.

The fuel division of Rosatom State Corporation, JSC TVEL, has successfully completed a large-scale modernization of the main uranium enrichment equipment at the electrochemical plant in Zelenogorsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory). Work on the installation of modern 9+ generation gas centrifuges lasted six years.

The plant produces low-enriched uranium for nuclear power plant fuel assemblies, stable and radioactive isotopes, as well as other high-tech products. Most of the start-up stages were put into operation ahead of schedule.

The modernization is part of a program to upgrade the separation equipment of Rosatom's fuel division with a phased replacement of old centrifuges.
