A unified center for the production of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) has been launched at the Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ).
The center is already operating and producing products for civilian needs — for the benefit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rostransnadzor, and regional administrations.
USVs are designed for unmanned control and monitoring on water bodies. The plans include the production of several dozen such devices.
The center's infrastructure includes a testing complex for checking control and communication systems, an indoor pool for all-season testing, as well as new workshops for assembling hulls and producing power plants.
KMZ is a large military-industrial holding specializing in the production of boats, small vessels, marine drones, and ship equipment, as well as the repair of diesel and gas turbine engines.
