Вспышка класса M1.3 произошла на левом краю Солнца

The event lasted 28 minutes

At 07:25 Moscow time on July 9, an M1.3 class flare with a power in the X-ray range was recorded on the Sun, lasting 28 minutes. This is the second class M flare in two days, occurring in the same area on the left edge of the Sun, but closer to Earth.

According to the data from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the ISZF SB RAS, these flares will not affect the Earth and will not cause magnetic storms. Geomagnetic conditions are predicted to be calm in the next three days.

A slight increase in solar activity is observed: the group of spots where flares occur is slowly approaching the direction of the Earth due to the rotation of the Sun. If the energy reserves in it are maintained, new events that can affect the Earth are possible starting from July 12-13.

Solar flares are classified by the power of X-ray radiation from A (minimum) to X (maximum), with each subsequent class being 10 times more powerful than the previous one. Class M flares are the penultimate class in terms of power.
