MTS has created a video game development center, with its first project being the children's game "Kiba," launched in Telegram Mini Apps. The platform was chosen deliberately — according to Mediascope, Telegram accounts for 18% of the time children aged 7–11 spend in mobile applications.
"Kiba" includes five casual mini-games with simple mechanics, designed for an audience up to 12 years old. Albert Ginovker, head of the MTS gamification center, said that a multi-platform project for adults is also in development, which will also be released on Telegram first, and then in app stores.
Experts note that mobile games with a small budget are a promising direction. Alexey Zamesov from Exectica Capital emphasizes that even if one out of ten projects "takes off," it can bring significant traffic. Denis Kuskov (TelecomDaily) estimates the start-up costs at 3–4 million rubles, but believes that if the launch is successful, the direction will develop.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostelecom is discussing the creation of its own game store.
