The Stavropol and Novorossiysk paratroopers have begun to master the serial RPL-20 belt-fed light machine gun, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The machine gun surpasses its predecessor, the RPKS-74, and has been refined based on recommendations from assault units of the Airborne Forces.
The RPL-20 is manufactured in a "multicam" color scheme, which is used for the first time in the production of small arms. This decision became necessary for maximum camouflage of military personnel and their weapons in various combat conditions.
The machine gun was developed in two versions: with barrel lengths of 415 mm (for assault units) and 590 mm (general-purpose version). The RPL-20 is compatible with a wide range of accessories and additional equipment.
