Three developers of the popular game "World of Tanks" — the companies "Lesta", "Lesta Games Agency" and "Lesta Games Moscow" — have become the property of Russia, according to registration documents. "Lesta Games Moscow" and "Lesta Games Agency" became state-owned on June 18, 2025. All organizations continue their activities.
Data on the transfer of companies to the ownership of Russia is also recorded in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. On June 3, 2025, the Tagansky Court of Moscow granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office and decided to turn the assets of the company "Lesta" (publisher of the games "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships") into state revenue. The court also banned the activities in Russia of the owner of "Lesta", Malik Khatazhaev, and the owner of Wargaming.net, Viktor Kisly.
The company "Lesta Games", located in St. Petersburg, separated from the Cypriot Wargaming in March 2022. After that, the games World of Tanks and World of Warships were re-released for users in Russia and Belarus under the names "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships". In April 2022, Wargaming announced its withdrawal from the Russian and Belarusian markets. The Prosecutor General's Office indicated that the separation of companies was formal.
