Минимальные 5 лет или 100 тысяч пробега: единые гарантийные сроки для машин могут появиться в России

Implementation of the initiative will allow competing with Chinese manufacturers

Deputies of the State Duma of Russia have proposed establishing uniform warranty periods for cars sold in the country. The proposal suggests a minimum warranty period of 5 years or 100,000 km mileage.

Currently, warranty periods in Russia vary. Some brands, especially Chinese ones, offer warranties of up to 5–7 years. This has become their competitive advantage.

At the same time, some localized and imported cars have a warranty of only 3 years, which does not correspond to the service life of key components. This creates unequal conditions for buyers and reduces their trust in manufacturers.

The deputies proposed holding discussions with automakers and experts, as well as preparing an analysis of the warranty obligations of global brands (Chery, Haval, Geely, and Exeed).

In addition, measures are being considered to support companies willing to provide extended warranties, including tax incentives, which could improve conditions for consumers and increase confidence in the automotive industry.
