The uninhabited turret of the Russian T-14 "Armata" tank increases the crew's survivability. This feature is the main advantage of the combat vehicle, according to 19FortyFive.
The "Armata" crew will be located in an armored capsule in the front of the tank's hull. Thanks to this location, the tankers will be isolated from fuel and ammunition. This layout has not yet been adopted in any serial tank.
A number of truly innovative solutions have been incorporated into the T-14's design. Unlike conventional tanks, where the crew operates the main gun from the turret, the T-14's turret is remotely controlled and fully automated.
Sergey Chemezov, General Director of the Rostec State Corporation, stated that the T-14 "Armata" surpasses existing tanks in terms of characteristics, but is unlikely to be used for the time being due to its high cost.
