The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding, together with the R. E. Alekseev Central Design Bureau for Hydrofoil Vessels (CDB for SPK), are working on the creation of a new vessel called "Meteor Eco", the KMZ press service reported.
The vessel is scheduled to be laid down and commissioned in the navigation season of 2026.
Together with the CDB for SPK named after R. E. Alekseev, we are working on creating a new hull for the "Meteor Eco", which will be slightly different from the vessels of this project. We hope that the first "Meteor Eco" hull will be laid down next year after we confirm the characteristics that we declared at the initial stages of our project.
One of the key features of the "Meteor Eco" will be a hybrid power plant, which will provide excellent sound insulation, low fuel consumption and compliance with modern environmental standards. The vessel will be designed for 120 passengers and will be able to develop an average speed of about 65 km/h.
The Central Design Bureau for Hydrofoil Vessels named after R. E. Alekseev, founded in 1951, has extensive experience in the development of ekranoplans and hydrofoil vessels. Among its achievements is the creation of the first "Raketa" and "Meteor" vessels, which became iconic for domestic shipbuilding.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Meteor 120R" will be received by the Rostov region.
