The Russian military has begun using a new modernized solid-propellant tactical ballistic missile. According to open sources, the ammunition may be a modified version of the North Korean Hwasong-11Ga ("Hwaseong-11A") missile.
The 2025 version has been refined taking into account the experience of using the "Hwasong-11A", and it has improved characteristics.
Despite the external similarity of the "Hwasong-11A" to the Russian Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK), the key identifying feature is the specific shape of the gas-dynamic rudders.
At the same time, the cut corners distinguish the missile from the 9M723 of the Iskander-M complex, which is longer, more elongated with rounded corners.
According to unconfirmed reports, the modernized North Korean missile has become "significantly more accurate", a version with a range of up to 900 km and several versions of warheads have appeared.
