The Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern has patented a new "unmanned aerial vehicle interceptor." The UAV is equipped with two small arms systems with increased shooting accuracy. This follows from the relevant patent document.
The unmanned aerial vehicle interceptor (UAV-I) in the form of a free-carrying monoplane contains a fuselage and a trapezoidal wing with engines located on it, as well as a small arms system. At the same time, the UAV-I is made according to the "flying wing" scheme and contains an additional small arms system, forming a twin small arms system, a final guidance system made with the ability to control the final section of the flight.
The twin small arms system increases the affected area of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and the rear mounting unit helps to dampen vibrations from the shot. A built-in computing module is provided for processing the trajectory. This allows you to accurately aim at high speeds. This design significantly increases the effectiveness of hitting aerial targets.
The patent also notes that the relevance of the invention is related to the need to counter illegally launched or located in prohibited areas drones that can be used for terrorist attacks, destruction of equipment and other illegal actions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new drone interceptor "Yolka" developed for the military.
