Russian front-line aviation has increased the range of its guided aerial bombs (KAB) to 100 km. Footage of their use has appeared online.
The bomb left an contrail in the sky. The sound of the flying munition was also audible — duller than that of a cruise missile. The bomb likely received a jet engine.
The fact that an attack can be carried out at such a long distance changes much in the planning and tactics of combat operations.
The radius of the bombs is sufficient for Su-34 and Su-57 fighter-bombers to use them without entering the range of air defense systems.
