The tracked vehicle received the so-called "barbecue grill", installed at the maximum permissible height above the turret roof. In addition to the grid, the tank was also reinforced with containers with dynamic protection, which should neutralize cumulative charges suspended under UAVs.
The installation of such structures increases the weight of the tank, but the 1250-horsepower gas turbine engine allows the T-80BVM to maintain its speed characteristics.
