The Russian company Cognitive Pilot (a joint venture between Sber and Cognitive Technologies) will supply up to 45 unmanned robots with artificial intelligence to the Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg.
This concerns the complete, industrial transition of the airport to robotic technology. This is the first project in Russia, and one of the first in the world, to massively use unmanned vehicles for airport tasks.
Robot characteristics:
- transporting luggage weighing up to 3 tons from the conveyor belt to the aircraft
- maintaining the cleanliness of the territory (mowing grass, snow removal)
- speed — up to 15 km/h
The developers expect the robot to help speed up baggage handling by 23%. The unmanned special equipment will be produced at the Cognitive Pilot enterprise in Tomsk.
