Naval aviation aircraft of the Pacific Fleet made more than 40 sorties during exercises in Kamchatka, the fleet's press service reported.
Ilyushin Il-38 and Il-38N anti-submarine aircraft used radar to search for submarines and ships of a mock enemy in the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Okhotsk.
The crews of Ka-29 and Ka-27 helicopters practiced withdrawing forces from under attack, as well as camouflaging aviation equipment on the ground. An-12 and An-26 military transport aircraft transported personnel and weapons to alternate airfields as part of the exercises.
The Pacific Fleet maneuvers will last until June 30. In total, more than 30 aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation were involved.
