Let's fight fraudsters. The "Digital Grandson" project to combat fraud will be launched in Russia

Each elderly participant in the pilot project will be assigned a student volunteer who will take on the role of a grandson and "deal" with the attacker

ANO "White Internet" is launching the "Digital Grandson" project in Russia. Its goal is to help elderly people protect themselves from Internet fraud. This was announced at SPIEF by the head of the "White Internet", member of the HRC Elina Sidorenko.

We are currently considering several interesting projects within the framework of the "White Internet". The first of these is the so-called "Digital Grandson". The story is that there are a number of advanced young people who are ready to help the elderly. Their phones will be freely available, and each elderly person who wishes to participate in the pilot project will be assigned a student, a volunteer, who will perform the function of this grandson.

According to Sidorenko, when a fraudster calls an elderly person, he offers him to talk to the alleged grandson. The grandson, according to the victim, is a volunteer and can help catch the fraudster.

As the head of ANO "White Internet" noted, in half of the cases there will be no call at all. And if it does happen, the "grandson" will be able to "repel the attack", since this will be a person who knows and has studied the problem well.

Earlier it became known that telephone fraudsters often pretend to be representatives of law enforcement agencies, Roskomnadzor and Rosfinmonitoring. They deceive Russians by claiming alleged unauthorized access to their accounts and alleged financing of prohibited structures.
