The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and the government of St. Petersburg are preparing to sign a strategic agreement on a large-scale modernization of "Severnaya Verf." The project, presented at SPIEF-2025, involves not just updating facilities, but creating a fundamentally new shipbuilding complex.
According to Andrey Kostin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of USC, the new shipyard will "exceed the existing infrastructure in terms of production volume by several times."
USC is signing an important agreement with the government of St. Petersburg on the actual reconstruction, I would even say construction, of a large "Severnaya Verf." A completely new shipyard will be built on the site of the current one, which will exceed the production volume by several times.
"Severnaya Verf" is one of the leading shipbuilding enterprises in Russia, which builds warships and commercial vessels for various purposes. The USC enterprise was created in accordance with the presidential decree in 2007. All of its shares are in federal ownership. Since August 2023, USC has been managed by VTB Bank.
