Photos of the engine compartment of the restyled Niva Travel have appeared online, showing the new 1.8-liter engine.
According to unofficial data, this power unit received the index 21217 and develops a power of 90 hp and about 150 N•m of torque. The basis for the new engine was the well-known 1.6-liter VAZ-11182 engine, which was adapted for longitudinal installation and increased in working volume.
One of the features of the updated engine is the original oil pan with tides for bolted connections to the clutch housing. This may improve its reliability and ease of installation.
The modernized Niva Travel will also receive an improved braking system. The car will be equipped with front brake mechanisms from Lada Vesta, including ventilated brake discs, which should significantly increase braking efficiency and overall vehicle safety. These updates emphasize the manufacturer's desire to improve the characteristics and comfort of its models.
