Rospotrebnadzor and the Radiation Hygiene Research Institute are monitoring radiation in Dagestan around the clock

The radiation background remains within normal limits against the backdrop of events at a nuclear facility in Iran

Rospotrebnadzor for Dagestan has begun round-the-clock monitoring of the radioactive situation in the southern part of the region on the instructions of the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Russia, Anna Popova.

Monitoring is carried out every two hours. The work is coordinated by the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene named after P.V. Ramzaev.

According to the department, the radiation situation in the republic is stable, and no excesses of the natural gamma background have been recorded. The level of gamma radiation is 0.05–0.06 μSv/hour.

Earlier, radiation contamination was recorded at a nuclear facility in Iran after Israeli strikes.
