Electric motors for technical water supply pumps have been launched at the coastal pumping station (CPS) of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP. This was reported by the station's press service.
The technical water system consists of six pumps. Each is capable of pumping 770 cubic meters of water per hour. This is the volume of 5.5 large railway tanks.
The supply of technical water is critical for the operation of auxiliary equipment, ensuring the stable and safe operation of the entire power unit. Water will be supplied through pipelines from the CPS to two key buildings:
- Chillers, which house equipment for cooling safety systems, ventilation and air conditioning of both the turbine and nuclear islands.
- Compressor station, which will supply compressed air during tests of the internal containment of the reactor building for leak tightness, as well as during the operation of the NPP after its launch.
The next stage is to test the pumps for performance and leak tightness. After that, the CPS will be put into operation.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that at the Akkuyu NPP, the diaphragm was dismantled.
