The international logistics operator for express delivery, SDEK, has announced the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for forecasting freight traffic. This was reported by the company's press service.
The new system already demonstrates an impressive accuracy of up to 98% in planning delivery for the next day, including the formation of optimal courier routes.
Logistics is becoming too complex to manage manually — AI takes over analytics, forecasting, and process optimization. We are already predicting the volume of orders and building routes with high accuracy, and in the future, the role of humans will be primarily reduced to monitoring and adjusting the operation of algorithms.
In addition to forecasting freight traffic, SDEK uses AI for automatic document recognition and searching for lost shipments. The system analyzes images, determines the type of waybills, and distributes them for further processing. It also helps to find missing cargo using photos and descriptions.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways will implement AI to manage tariffs and train compositions.
