At the CIPR-2025 conference, the Russian company Fplus presented its own basic input/output system (BIOS) and baseboard management controller (BMC). The development aims to eliminate compatibility issues that arise when using solutions from different manufacturers.
According to Fplus, their approach ensures complete control over the equipment and enhances security through a closed development cycle. This minimizes the risks associated with using third-party code, including potential vulnerabilities or hidden functions.
In the context of the need for technological independence, the development of our own BIOS and BMC is of strategic importance. Fully domestic BIOS in Russian products bring them to a new level of import independence. We strive to ensure that the functionality of our software meets international standards.
Currently, the Fplus BIOS is already running on two of the company's server platforms. The plans include adaptation for new generation servers, as well as porting to monoblocks and mobile PCs while maintaining a unified interface. The development has already been patented and is undergoing certification at the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
