Specialists from the Lavochkin Research and Production Association have completed the development tests of the landing module model for the Luna-27 mission. This was announced by Roscosmos.
During the tests, the device confirmed the operability of the landing gear. It was tested with simulation of lunar gravity and contact with a soil analogue.
This is one of the important stages in preparation for the upcoming lunar expedition; specialists have worked out soft landing modes in conditions as close as possible to real ones.
The first lunar mission in the modern history of Russia was launched on August 11, 2023. The launch of the automatic interplanetary station Luna-25 was carried out from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
The soft landing of the Luna-25 station at the South Pole of the Earth's natural satellite was scheduled for August 21, 2023, but on August 19, the device collided with the lunar surface and was lost.
