Overhaul of power unit No. 4 at the Leningrad NPP completed ahead of schedule

The unit's lifespan has been extended until 2030

The overhaul of power unit No. 4 at the Leningrad NPP (LAES) has been completed ahead of schedule. This was reported by the press service of Rosenergoatom Concern (the electric power division of Rosatom).

Work on the RBMK-1000 power unit was completed almost 12 days ahead of schedule. The overhaul involved about 1,400 specialists from the Leningrad NPP and Lenatomenergoremont.

During the overhaul, in-reactor inspection, a major overhaul of generator No. 7 and a medium overhaul of generator No. 8 were carried out. Additionally, a set of works was performed to extend the unit's lifespan until 2030.

The Leningrad NPP provides more than 50% of the consumption of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The plant has four power units with a total capacity of 4,287 MW.

In February 2025, LAES received a license from Rostekhnadzor to use power unit No. 3 until 2030.
