Атомная стройка продолжается, несмотря на трудности финансирования: на АЭС «Аккую» появится автоматическая система контроля воды

The solution will minimize potential negative consequences for the ecosystem

An automated water control system will be implemented at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction in Turkey to monitor water discharged into the Mediterranean Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Rosatom State Corporation.

Akkuyu NPP

The decision was made as part of the project update to ensure compliance with the changed requirements of the legislation of the Turkish Republic and to improve the environmental safety of the plant. The system will remotely monitor the purity and flow rate of water used to cool turbine condensers. This will allow for more effective monitoring of environmental impact and minimizing potential negative consequences for the Mediterranean Sea ecosystem.

Systematic monitoring of all environmental parameters is carried out at the site and in the region of the nuclear power plant construction: the state of soil, air, flora, fauna and, of course, sea water. For us, this is not just an obligation to comply with legal requirements, but part of the project philosophy.
Sergey Butskikh, General Director of Akkuyu Nuclear, emphasized

The Akkuyu NPP project continues to develop, despite funding difficulties. The main problem in the development of large-scale nuclear construction has become sanctions pressure.
