Систему с ИИ для автоматической генерации уровней в видеоиграх создала студентка из РТУ МИРЭА

The development accelerates the creation of video content in games by 70%

A student from the Institute of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies of the Russian Technological University (RTU MIREA), Ekaterina Zakharova, presented an innovative system that uses artificial intelligence to automatically generate levels and terrain in video games. The technology can reduce game content development time by 50-70%, which will greatly simplify the process of creating new games.

The system is based on generative adversarial networks (GAN) and procedural generation. It is compatible with popular game engines such as Unity and Pygame. Zakharova noted that the use of this technology allows developers to focus on the gameplay, rather than on the routine work of creating the environment.

The developed system combines several generation methods. The university emphasized that there are currently no analogues that allow integrating a ready-made solution into various projects with the ability to train the model on its own images. The project received a grant for further development.
