Electric scooter rental rating to appear in Russia

The new system will evaluate scooter drivers and help improve road safety

Leading electric scooter rental services in Russia are launching a pilot project to create a kicksharing driver rating. The main goal of the initiative is to encourage responsible users and introduce restrictions for violators.

The rating will be formed on the basis of several criteria. First of all, the driver's experience is taken into account, which is determined by the number of trips made. Also important factors will be the presence of fines, warnings and accidents, driving style, parking quality, as well as age verification through banking services or identification through Mos ID and MTS ID.

The rating will affect the individual settings of each user. In particular, it will determine the maximum speed at which the driver can travel - 20 km/h or 25 km/h. At the moment all electric scooters are limited to a speed of 20 km/h.

As part of the pilot project, new users will have a speed limit of 18-20 km/h by default. Inside the Third Transport Ring and the Moscow Ring Road in Moscow, the maximum speed will remain at 20 km/h, even for drivers with a high rating. In cities where an official limit of 20 km/h has been set, such as St. Petersburg, Kazan and Kaliningrad, the previous conditions also remain. In addition, slow zones will be in effect, including pedestrian and dangerous areas.

Users who commit serious violations, such as trips before reaching the set age, may be blocked. It is important to note that the rating does not replace the rules of the road, and drivers are still responsible for their actions on the road.
