An institute of modern laser tag technologies has opened in the Smolensk region — a new division of the "Lasertag" company. The center will focus on the development of games, devices, and equipment for laser combat, as well as projects in the field of virtual and augmented reality.
The institute will employ more than 100 programmers and engineers. Students from Smolensk will be able to do internships at the facility. They will be taught how to create interactive computer worlds and the basics of robotics.
The governor of the region, Vasily Anokhin, emphasized that the "Lasertag" company cooperates with 7 thousand partners around the world and supplies its products to almost 100 countries.
It is our professionals who created the innovative sport of the future — laser combat, and also hold international and federal competitions in this field.
The institute plans to hold international and federal competitions to promote laser tag as a sport. Anokhin said that a foreign company, Xstrike, is interested in cooperating with local developers.
