Rosatom occupies about 90% of the global market for export construction of nuclear power plants abroad. This was announced by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the State Corporation.
The development of nuclear energy within the country has predetermined our absolute leadership in the global nuclear market. We are building 22 power units abroad simultaneously. These are China, India, Turkey, Iran, Hungary and Bangladesh.
Alexey Likhachev also noted that by the 2040s, Rosatom plans to increase the share of nuclear energy in Russia to 25%.
In December 2024, the government approved a general scheme for the placement of electricity facilities until 2042, a lot of work was done by the Ministry of Energy. Nuclear power plants will appear in Siberia and the Far East.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Finland must compensate Rosatom for losses from the suspension of construction of the Hanhikivi NPP.
