Finland must legally compensate Rosatom for the losses incurred as a result of terminating the contract for the construction of the Hanhikivi nuclear power plant, according to Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the state corporation.
The only country that demonstratively refused to cooperate with us (Rosatom) is Finland. This is the well-known Hanhikivi project. Finnish businesses lacked the courage to defend this project during the years of sanctions pressure.
Likhachev characterized the Finnish side's decision as politicized and noted that it is extremely difficult to comment on it from the point of view of common sense.
We are currently in litigation. The political beliefs of the Finnish government concern us, but not much.
According to him, Finland is obliged to compensate for the losses that were incurred in the process of creating the project and at the first stage of construction.
Rosatom has filed a lawsuit for 227.8 billion rubles against Finnish companies Fortum and Outokumpu. This became known on May 5. The lawsuit is related to the intention to recover damages caused by the wrongful termination of the contract for the construction of the Hanhikivi NPP. The reason for the absence of the case file was not disclosed.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the legal battles surrounding the Akkuyu NPP continue.
