AvtoVAZ is monitoring the situation around the identified shortcomings in the new Lada Niva Sport. The plant has already diagnosed two SUVs that revealed defects in the rear suspension, said the head of the press service of the auto concern, Sergei Ilyinsky.
According to him, the cars were inspected by official dealers, who replaced the damaged rear levers. AvtoVAZ also examined warehouse specimens - no similar problems were found.
Ilyinsky noted that such cases can be considered isolated. He also stressed that, subject to the rules of operation, a recurrence of the situation is unlikely.
Ilyinsky explained the curiosity with the self-tapping screw in the fuel line of one of the cars. It turned out that the error during the installation of parts was made by an official dealer after anti-corrosion treatment.
Despite this, AvtoVAZ took on part of the responsibility and conducted unscheduled training for the staff of dealer centers. The company assures that the necessary measures have been taken, and such incidents should not occur in the future.
The problem arose after the March delivery of a limited batch of cars, timed to coincide with the start of sales on the model's birthday. During operation, defects were revealed, including bending rods. At the same time, the case with the self-tapping screw in the fuel line turned out to be isolated and did not recur on other copies.
