New technology will be used in the restoration of a 17th-century church in the Vladimir region

Russian scientists from Vladimir State University (VlSU) have developed and patented an innovative biocidal composition for the restoration of white-stone monuments. The material is planned to be used in the restoration of the Church of the Nativity of Christ, located in the village of Borisogleb, Murom district, Vladimir region.

The created composition has high resistance to mold and fungi and protects the stone from the negative impact of the environment. The development was carried out in collaboration with the company "Kolomenskiye Kraski". The new material is based on construction waste, including organic components and products from the mining industry.

The development solves environmental problems, since the use of secondary resources reduces the cost of restoration. In the future, the technology is planned to be used for other historical sites in Russia as well.
