Leading Javelin by the nose: Russian T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks received a clever update

The "Nakidka" camouflage coating confuses the guidance system

Our NII Stali (part of Rostec) serially produces Nakidka camouflage equipment, which reduces the visibility of tanks, BMPs, APCs, self-propelled guns and other military equipment in a wide range of wavelengths. The product is supplied to the army and is becoming a mandatory element of the equipment of Russian armored vehicles.

"Nakidka" is a synthetic material that is put on top of the equipment in the form of covers or coatings. The material reduces the level of thermal radiation of the tank by several times, so that the vehicle practically merges with the background surface.

Covering with this material helps a heated vehicle to merge with the surrounding area and disappear from the field of view of optoelectronic systems. It also helps to confuse the thermal guidance systems of missiles from complexes such as Javelin. The kit makes it almost impossible to effectively use high-precision weapons against equipment covered by it.

In the radar range, "Nakidka" significantly reduces the range of detection of equipment. In addition, the special material can be made in camouflage colors, further reducing the visibility of military equipment in the visible optical range.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec delivered new Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces.
