Fraudsters disguise extremism, drug trafficking and violence as "easy money"

Fraudsters have begun to involve teenagers in criminal activities under the guise of part-time work. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia following an analysis of law enforcement practice.

Teenagers are increasingly being drawn into illegal activities through advertisements for "easy money" posted on social networks. Often, the offers are framed as vacancies that do not require official employment, which allows organizers to hide their true intentions.

Among the crimes that minors are being persuaded to participate in are sabotage, violent acts, extremism, illegal rallies, drug trafficking and other offenses. Recruitment is often carried out by deception, under the pretext of the legality of actions, promises of rewards, or through the use of threats and psychological pressure.

The agency believes that the current situation requires additional measures to clean up the digital space, identify criminal communities and protect children from involvement in criminal activities.
