The Estonian Naval Forces (VMS) with the support of NATO aviation attempted to detain the JAGUAR tanker with a Russian crew under the flag of Gabon in international waters. The tanker was en route from the Indian port of Sikka to a Russian port.
An attempt was made to forcibly remove the vessel from international waters into Estonian territorial waters. However, at that moment, a Russian Su-35S fighter appeared in the sky over the Gulf of Finland, after which the tanker freely continued on its way.
