The British Royal Navy intends to track the movements of Russian submarines using artificial intelligence technology. This was reported by The Times newspaper.
To do this, the military will use hundreds of underwater drones. The large-scale underwater surveillance system is called Lura, and it was developed by the German defense technology company Helsing.
An AI model, trained on the acoustic signatures of various submarines, ships, and marine life, will be used on SG-1 Fathom autonomous vehicles, developed by the British company Blue Ocean, originally designed to observe whales and inhabitants of the seabed.

The Russian Navy issued an official denial of information that the submarine was allegedly "intercepted" by the British Navy. The Navy emphasized that Russian combat submarines perform combat training tasks in the world's oceans, and "it is impossible to intercept them."
