In Vietnam, the S-60 anti-aircraft artillery guns with 57-mm automatic cannons have been seriously modernized. The 1950s-era systems have been equipped with modern target detection, digital data transmission, and guidance systems, resulting in a mobile short-range air defense system.
For this purpose, the anti-aircraft guns were equipped with electromechanical drives and sensors, as well as a two-way data transmission system.
The modernized S-60s can be remotely controlled from a command post based on a modern KamAZ with a 4x4 wheel configuration, which is equipped with a modern radar station.
A semi-remote control option is also possible, where each gun has a crew of soldiers, and the guidance data is transmitted to them in digital format from the command post. The main task of the S-60 is to engage air and ground targets at ranges up to 6 km and altitudes of 5 km using different types of projectiles. The complex has a crew of up to 8 people.
The automatic system provides a technical rate of fire of up to 120 rounds/min. The practical rate does not exceed 70-75 rounds/min.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the frigate "Admiral Golovko," carrier of hypersonic "Zircon" missiles, has completed a long voyage.
