The National Automobile Union (NAS) has appealed to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) with a request to inspect UAZ due to the increase in car prices, in particular, the popular "loafs".
Over the year, the cost of "loafs" has increased by 15%, and in 2025, prices have already increased twice, reaching 1.56 million rubles. NAS demanded that the regulator find out whether UAZ is a monopolist in the market, and check how justified the price increase is, which outpaces the official inflation rate (10.2%).
In April, UAZ raised prices for the entire model range. The largest increase in percentage terms was recorded for the popular "loaf" (UAZ SGR) - by 15%, which is 220,000 rubles. Prices for "Pickup" and Patriot increased by 13% (235,000 rubles), and for Hunter - by 14% (220,000 rubles).
UAZ claims that the increase in prices for their cars from April 2024 to May 2025 amounted to 11–12.2%, which is lower than the inflation rate. The company explains the rise in price by the increase in costs for logistics, components and raw materials, as well as the modernization of models.
