Новые перспективы для электроразрядных технологий: инновационный тип изоляции для высоковольтных систем создали в России

The electrical strength of the new composite surpasses all existing analogues

Specialists from Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov (SSTU) have developed a new type of insulation for high-voltage systems. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The new material has a high dielectric constant, which is relevant for the electric power industry and opens up new prospects for the implementation of electrical discharge technologies. They can provide cheaper - compared to mechanical methods - drilling of deep wells in rocky soils, mining of minerals, destruction of concrete and reinforced concrete during the dismantling of large structures.

The new insulation is made of silicone, ceramic fillers and glycerin. The material provides insulation and helps to direct electric fields in electrical devices.

During the tests, it was found that the electrical strength and dielectric constant of the new composite exceed existing analogues. TPU graduate student Evgeny Radzivilov said that a sample with a dielectric constant of 54.41 is suitable for insulating reinforcement in high-voltage systems. This indicator opens up new opportunities for using the material in the energy and mining industries.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that a new heat-insulating material, penofenoplast, was created in Chelyabinsk to replace polyurethane foam.
