Костромская ГРЭС осталась без оборудования?: «Интер РАО» подали иск на 264,7 млн рублей к «Силовым машинам»

The reason for the lawsuit is a delay in the delivery of equipment for the station's modernization

Inter RAO filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court on April 30 against Power Machines, demanding the payment of 264.7 million rubles. The details of the case have not yet been disclosed.

Kostroma State District Power Plant

According to representatives of Inter RAO, the lawsuit is related to a delay in the delivery of equipment necessary for the modernization of the Kostroma State District Power Plant's power unit. A request for payment was sent to Power Machines.

The Kostroma State District Power Plant, with a capacity of 3720 MW, is one of the largest thermal power plants in Russia, producing approximately 15 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In March, the Russian government approved a change in the modernization schedule for the fifth power unit of the Kostroma State District Power Plant, moving it from February 2025 to November 2026.

At the end of February this year

The Arbitration Court recovered 514.1 million rubles from Power Machines, owned by billionaire Alexei Mordashov, as a penalty for delaying the delivery of equipment under the program to modernize old thermal power plants. The lawsuit was filed by Inter RAO.

According to the court's decision, Power Machines was supposed to deliver the equipment by November 1, 2021, but the deadline was moved back by almost two and a half years. Mordashov's company explained the delay by production restrictions caused by the pandemic.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the manufacturer of the newest Alexandrite-class mine countermeasures ships was demanded 350 million rubles for the delay.
