In the Nizhny Novgorod region, EMERCOM employees conducted exercises using new unmanned aerial systems, the main purpose of which was to practice transmitting information from drones and interacting with EMERCOM aviation during operations, including the dropping of fire extinguishing agents.
A commission from the central apparatus of EMERCOM, scientists from the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, and employees of the regional administration observed the scenarios being worked out.
Particular attention was paid to the new payload — a dosimeter that allows remote measurement of radiation levels, which is especially important for surveying hard-to-reach areas and potential hazard zones. The technologies used in these exercises have proven their value in simulating man-made disasters, where the speed and safety of rescue operations are a priority.
