The Russian S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) will be able to intercept aerial targets even in outer space. This was announced by analyst Valery Kulichkov.
He recalled that the Prometheus is capable of detecting and destroying up to 10 supersonic ballistic targets flying at speeds up to 7 km/sec simultaneously, as well as intercepting warheads of hypersonic missiles on approach.
Our new S-500 anti-aircraft missile system, or, as it is correctly called, an anti-aircraft missile system, can hit not only cruise missiles, enemy aircraft, but also intercontinental ballistic missiles, therefore, it can also hit targets in outer space.
The Prometheus will also be able to target stealthy fifth-generation fighters, the S-500's range is about 600 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia has set a goal to achieve import substitution in the production of machine tools up to 95%.
