Russia will legislate the use of agro-drones, including their use for pollination of crops. This was announced by Yulia Ogloblina, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, leader of the Russian Union of Rural Youth.
We will think about how to legally ensure the operation of agro-drone control, because now it is not legally prescribed at all and this is a new direction for farmers.
She noted that there are now restrictions on drone control. This means that they can only be controlled with permission and not everywhere. In addition, separate training is required to obtain the necessary management skills.
Ogloblina noted that there is now a problem of bee deaths due to pesticides. A possible solution may be the use of agro-drones for plant pollination.
Every year we try to build a dialogue between beekeepers and agricultural producers, and we are constantly making changes legislatively, but we understand that it is very difficult to develop a common strategy throughout the territory. And I heard a wonderful way out: to scale up the use of agro-drones.
Farmers are ready to use these technologies, and agronomists understand that spraying plant protection products with drones is more profitable than using agricultural machinery, which is now very expensive, Ogloblina noted.
According to her, some farmers are already ready to provide permanent jobs to drone management specialists in agriculture. In particular, there is already a cooperative in the Lipetsk region that provides such services.
