The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding has repaired a marine diesel engine type 8D6 6Ч 9.5/11 manufactured by Dagdizel Plant JSC under a state contract for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
During the work, specialists encountered some problems with the acquisition of spare parts from the manufacturer, which are currently out of production.
Thanks to the efforts of KMZ employees, the repair was completed in full with the restoration of the necessary components, said Oleg Bakshinsky, Head of Direction.
8D6 diesels are designed to operate as part of combined units and marine diesel generators. They are equipped with a dual-circuit cooling system with water-to-water heat exchangers and have a 12 V electric starter system.
The rated power of 8D6 marine engines is 33.1 kW (45 hp), the rated speed is 1500 rpm. The overall dimensions of the engine are 1180x610x970 mm, and the dry weight is 460 kg.
