The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, stated that he sees potential in developing the localization of Lada cars in Iran and expects the imminent opening of a dealership in that country.
In principle, in Iran, it is necessary to implement a project for localization, for the assembly of our cars. This will provide certain competitive advantages. Therefore, we are placing a big bet on the Iranian direction and expect that our dealership will open there soon.
Sokolov noted that the potential partner is interested in the entire product line of the company, including the new Lada Iskra model.
In April, AvtoVAZ began mass production of Lada Iskra, with sales starting on July 20 of this year. The auto giant's production capacity allows it to produce up to 150,000 Lada Iskra cars per year.
