At the "Electrotrans" exhibition in Moscow, KAMAZ showcased the KAMAZ-52222 electric bus — a modernized version of the previous 6282 model. The updated transport features increased energy efficiency, improved ergonomics, and adaptation to the requirements of modern megacities.
The electric bus is equipped with a 230 kWh lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, which is 15% higher than its predecessor. The range is at least 100 km, and a full charge from a 300 kW station takes 55 minutes. Movement is provided by two synchronous electric motors with a capacity of 180 kW each, integrated into portal axles.
The body of the model is made of materials with increased corrosion resistance. Metro-type sliding doors with a width of 1380 mm have been introduced, reducing the risk of pinching passengers. The drive of the doors is electric, with an indication of the opening status. The number of seats in the cabin has been increased to 35, and the total capacity has reached 85 people. A low-floor platform, luggage areas, and dual-zone climate control increase comfort.
The braking system with ABS and ASR is supplemented by a hill hold function. Heat losses are minimized by redistributing air flows and increasing the number of heaters from 6 to 8 units. Russian-made lighting equipment includes adaptive interior lighting: cold spectrum in the morning and warm in the evening.
The operator's workplace has been expanded, an ergonomic seat with adjustments and a control panel with intelligent indication have been installed.
The first 400 electric buses will arrive in the fleet of SUE "Mosgortrans" in April 2025.
