The Russian agro-industrial complex is actively using unmanned aerial vehicles for agricultural needs. In 2024, 28 drones were purchased, which is 7.7% higher than the indicators planned by the authorities. This is stated in the final report of the Ministry of Agriculture for the past year.
The introduction of UAVs is taking place within the framework of the federal program "Stimulating demand for domestic unmanned aircraft systems." Almost 40 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. 99.87% of them were utilized.
The use of drones in agriculture is permitted in 12 regions: Tatarstan, Altai and Stavropol Territories, Volgograd, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Tambov and Ulyanovsk Regions. These regions have special legal regimes that allow drone flights with minimal regulatory burden.
