The Kaliningrad branch of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has completed the certification of radio communication simulators. This was reported in the press service of the RS.
The simulators were developed at the Scientific Center for Training Systems and Technologies (NCOST) for inland waterways. The devices, called "Radiocommunication IWW NCOST 1.0 RU" and "Radar IWW NCOST 1.0 RU", can be used to train specialists and demonstrate professional skills.
The simulators are software and hardware complexes operating under the control of an instructor station based on standard personal computers connected to a local network. They are based on digital models for controlling real ship equipment. The simulators can display the navigation situation on a separate screen.
