Specialists from "Mosmedpark" have created a hardware and software complex for monitoring the health of cattle.
The system identifies the risks of mastitis development at the preclinical stage by analyzing data from sensors attached to the animals' collars. Pilot tests of the technology are being carried out on farms in the Krasnodar Territory, and commercial launch is scheduled for the coming months.
The sensors record bioelectrical signals from the cows' skin and transmit them to the server. Algorithms based on the functional-spectral diagnostics method assess the condition of each animal and the entire herd. If deviations are detected, the veterinarian receives a notification for timely intervention. According to the developers, 80% of the system's components are produced in Russia, which ensures independence from sanctions restrictions. In the future, the complex will learn to diagnose endometritis, another common disease in cattle.
Mastitis affects up to 70% of livestock, reducing milk yield and increasing treatment costs. The introduction of the system will reduce the incidence of the disease and maintain herd productivity. According to the project manager, the technology eliminates the need for the constant presence of veterinarians, automating control processes.
Early diagnosis of mastitis is critical for the dairy industry: the disease leads to billions in losses annually due to reduced milk quality and treatment costs. Automation of monitoring will increase the profitability of farms and reduce the use of antibiotics, improving product safety.
